What are the Shockers up to?

Wichita State is off to a good start at 8 wins and 2 losses and ranked #13 or so in the polls, but some recent injuries may cause problems in the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Although not on the web, I highly recommend Kirk Seminoff's "Shocker Handbook" (ISBN 1-880652-47-1, $9.95, Midwest Sports Publications) for true Shocker fans. The book covers men's basketball, baseball and football in great detail. Women's basketball, tennis, track and field, cross country, golf, softball, volleyball and bowling are covered to a lesser extent. There are stats, trivia and humor along with serious topics such as the 1970 football team's airplane crash.
